With the aim to improve the services and to promote dematerialization of consular proceedings, the Embassy of Italy has introduced starting from 18 March 2020 a system to book the appointments online. The system is divided in two macro-categories:
– visas (The Embassy of Italy cannot process directly, except in exceptional cases, the visa applications of South African citizens having an ordinary passport. These applications must be presented through the outsourcer VFS – www.vfsglobal.com/Italy/Southafrica)
– consular services

We kindly ask the users, after confirming the appointment, to immediately write an e-mail to consolato.pretoria@esteri.it specifying the service they need so as they can receive all the information needed and the forms to be filled and sisgned prior to the appointment.
For citizens applications, there is a dedicated portal: portale ALI.
