We have noticed on websites and social media, also in South Africa, adverts and banners offering – in exchange for large sums of money – Italian citizenship (and passport) or residence permit.

Please note that only the Embassy and the Consulates are authorised to take citizenship applications (either recognition of citizenship by blood or naturalisation); in South Africa visa applications can be presented through the official outsourcer VFS Global.
The only fee to be paid is the official one.
