The Embassy of Italy in Pretoria informs that the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is funding the 5th Edition of the initiative “Open Africa Power: Empowering women and youth to lead the clean energy transition”, in collaboration with the international organization “Sustainable Energy for All (S.E.4All)” and the no-profit “Enel Foundation”.
This project aims at enhancing skills of a new highly qualified generation of African experts to address the demanding challenges of energy transition and climate change, towards the creation of more resilient and inclusive societies, in line with UN Sustainable Development Goal 7 (“Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all”).
The training program is open to 150 selected participants from African countries aged between 24 and 35 years old. It will start on 3 May 2022 and will be structured in three phases. A first session, “digital African module”, will be held online in collaboration with the University of Cape Town, and will focus on the global energy sector (until 21 June 2022). Another session will be organized online by the Florence School of Regulation (until 17 October), and it will be followed by a “residential module” in Italy offered to a limited number of participants selected on the basis of a project work.
Eligible candidates are invited to apply by the 25 March 2022 through the following link: https://www.seforall.org/news/open-africa-power-2022-call-for-applications.
