Born in Modena, on 30th August 1966. University of Bologna: graduated in Political Sciences, on 25th of June 1993.

Following a competitive exam, entered the Diplomatic Career on the 23rd September 1996.

At the Diplomatic Institute, professional training course from 23rd September 1996 to 22 June 1997.

At the Directorate General of Economic Affairs, Off. IX from 23rd March 1998.

At the Directorate General of Mediterranean and Middle East Countries, Off. I from 1st January 2000.

Second Secretary at the Italian Embassy in Buenos Aires from 14th February 2000.

Confirmed at the Italian Embassy in Buenos Aires as First Secretary from 23rd September 2000.

Consul in Cape Town from 19th June 2003.

Promoted Counsellor in Cape Town on the 2nd July 2006.

Appointed Head of Office for the South East Asia and the Pacific General Directorate for Asia, Oceania and Antarctic countries from 30th April 2007.

Sent on Mission to Herat from September 2008 to March 2009 as head of the civilian component of the Provincial Reconstruction Team (ISAF).

Counselor at the Italian Embassy in Addis Ababa from 7th September 2009.

Promoted to Senior Counsellor from 2nd July 2011.

Appointed Ambassador of Italy to the Kingdom of Baharain from 19th October 2012.

Head of office for the Horn of Africa from 19th September 2016.

Ambassador of Italy to the Federal Republic of Somalia from 7th October 2019.

Ambassador of Italy to the Republic of South Africa from 4th December 2023.
