The sixth edition of the National Prize for Ideas “BookTuberPrize” was announced by the Centre for Books and Reading of the Italian Ministry of Culture. The Competition aims to circulate the knowledge of books among young people and stimulate their digital skills.
Booktubers read books, talk about them and share them; they make known their favorite readings by recording videos that are uploaded on the net: they are “video-bloggers” active in the publishing field. The award, inspired by these new professional figures, is aimed at young people aged 11 to 21, in Italy and abroad.
Participants can choose from four thematic categories:
– narrative: review of a novel by an/ a writer/ writer Italian published since 2000;
– poetry: review of a poetic collection published from 2000;
– illustrated book: review of an illustrated book by an Italian author/author published since 2000;
– graphic novel/comics: review of an illustrated book by an Italian author/author published since 2000.
After choosing and reading a book or a poetic collection, they will have to describe the content through a video review of max 2 minutes in mp4 format. The video can be made by one, two or three people.
However, it must be only books in Italian, written by Italian authors, published by Italian publishers in the indicated period of time. The language to be used for the presentation of the review is Italian.
The winners will be rewarded with vouchers for the purchase of books.
Participation in the Competition is free and the submissions must be made by 13:00, May 31, 2024.
