The Italian Trade Agency is organizing the Italy–South Africa Agri-Food Business Forum in Cape Town to coincide with the visit to South Africa by the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry, Hon. Francesco Lollobrigida.
The event will take place on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, and Wednesday, June 10, 2026 (registration begins at 8:00 a.m., proceedings begin at 9:00 a.m. on June 9) and will feature, on the first day, a high-level institutional plenary session, thematic panels, and B2B/B2G meetings among members of the respective delegations. On the second day, visits to local companies are scheduled.
There are also plans to organize a visit by industry representatives from Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Angola (tentative countries).
The Forum will focus on the following sectors:
– Agri-food production
– Fruit and vegetable growing
– Food processing
– Packaging solutions
– Agricultural machinery and equipment
– Agri-technology and digital agriculture
– Livestock innovation
– Water and natural resource management
– Climate-resilient and protected agriculture
– Sustainability and Carbon Farming
The event will be conducted in Italian and English, with simultaneous interpretation provided for the institutional session and the panel discussions. No interpretation will be provided for the B2B meetings.
The proceedings on June 9 will conclude with a networking event.
