Information For Visas
The Italian Embassy is competent for:
- issuing of visas for citizens residing In Namibia, Madagascar, Mauritius and Lesotho;
- visas for South African citizens holders of diplomatic, official and service passports;
- visas for Malta (only tourism visas; for other visa categories it is necessary to apply in the competent Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Malta) - SERVICE SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

The Visa Office handles the issuance of visas allowing applicants entrance into Italy or the EU. Office personnel are available to the public for consultation on what type of visa to apply for.

NOTICE
The Embassy does not accept cash payments anymore Payment for all Consular Services and Visas can be made ONLY via Electronic Transfer (EFT).
All bank charges related to the transfer shall be paid by the applicant; therefore the Embassy bank account should reflect the full amount due.
If the amount received by the Embassy is lower than the amount due by the applicant, the requested documents will not be processed, and the amount paid will not be refunded.
You are kindly advised to double check with your Bank that all charges are paid by the payer.
In order to avoid the cash deposit bank fees, you are kindly requested to use the EFT payment only.
The reference of the payment has to be the surname of the person requesting the Consular Service, and not of the person making the payment, should they be different people.

Foreign nationals who wish to apply for a visa are informed that, according to the new European Union Visa Regulation (1155/2019), as from the 2nd February 2020 the consular fee for submitting the Schengen visa application will increase to 40 euro for applicants between 6 and under 12 years old and to 80 euro for adults (from 12 years old).
