Welcome to the website of the Embassy of Italy in Pretoria!
The traditional bonds of friendship and solidarity between Italy and South Africa are witnessed by intense economic and commercial exchanges, as well as by an active political dialogue on the main international dossiers, building on the common multilateral vocation of our two Countries.
Cultural and scientific cooperation – both framed in a comprehensive programme of events and initiatives, often fostering important opportunities for industrial partnerships – are also lively and fruitful.
All the other institutions of “Sistema Italia” in South Africa – notably the Consulates in Johannesburg and Cape Town, the Italian Institute of Culture, the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), Societa’ Dante Alighieri, the SA-Italy Chamber of Commerce – provide a major
contribution towards further strengthening the already excellent bilateral relations.
To this end, we can also rely on an asset of high importance: an active and prosperous Italian Community – the largest in the Continent – well integrated in the South African social and economic fabric, while at the same time strongly attached to Italy’s values and traditions.
To the Italians in South Africa – as well as to our Communities in Lesotho, Madagascar, Mauritius and Namibia, assisted by the precious work of our Honorary Consuls – I therefore wish to address my warmest greetings.
This website aims at being a useful tool to all those interested in the Embassy activities and services, many of which directly accessible online. Hopefully, it will serve as an information space and, together with our Facebook page, as a platform for dialogue between visitors and the Embassy.
